Hill, formerly superintendent of bridge construction on the O.T.R. and Mrs. Hill celebrated their golden wedding here Wednesday evening. Nearlyy every prominent citizen in the neighborhood was present to offer their congratulations. He was born at Drumshambo,, Couty Leitrim, Ireland. His father was an Irish landlord, and a next descendent of Viscount Hill who settled within the English pale in Ireland during the reight of Henry Ii. A great uncle of Mr. G. T. He built a great many bridges on the Quebec division and subsequently became interested in marble work. In 1876 he became proprietor of the marble works at Richmond now known as "Hill's Granite and Marble Works." Several years ago he retired from active life, but is still hale and hearty for his age.
Mrs. Hill was a native of Fairrfieldd, Vermont and is still a verry active old lady. She enjohys health that many a younger woman might envy. Their sixteen grandchildren, Mrs. Hill's four sisters and one brother, also participaated in the celebration. During the evening their Richmond friends presented Mr. & Mrs. Hill with an address and a purse of sovreigns.
