Dorothy Ann (Howard) Johnson was born August 23, 1930, in Canandaigua, New York, the daughter of Dr. John Wendell Howard and Dorothy Louise (Mahan) Howard. She grew up in the small village of East Bloomfield, New York in the 1930s and 1940s. Growing up her interests were music and art. After graduating from Syracuse University and Katharine Gibbs School in Boston, she went to Houston in the fall of 1952, where she met and married her husband, Carroll Allen Johnson. Dorothy went to work for Humble Oil & Refining Company (now ExxonMobil Corporation), from which she retired in 1993.
Dorothy was always learning and had many interests. She belonged to many organizations, spent countless hours volunteering as well as serving on many boards, She enjoyed traveling.
After Dorothy’s retirement in 1993 she collected information on over 6100 of her ancestors and her husband’s ancestors. Prior to her death in 2021 she requested that the information be shared with her family. This website is our way of sharing her many years of research.
