Witness1934Christopher Mainzer (Christ-Crist) was born in Muhlausen, Germany 18 August 1862. The Mainzer family came to the United States when Christ was around 2 years old. Christ married Ida Trebesh on 19 October 1889. He died of Lip Cancer on 6 October 1935. He is buried in Mission, Texas. Christ and Ida moved from Sleepy Eye Minnesota to Mission, Texas on 9 November 1917. Christ was a farmer. Their children: John, Elise, Vernonica, Benjamin, Helen and Ruth (chapter 1). Christ and Ida made a trip to Idaho when John and Elise were small. Christ also visited Galveston, Texas after the big hurricane of 1900. A Shary Land Excursion brought him to the Mission area, where he bought forty (40) acres of brush land in 1916. After clearing the land the family moved to Texas 9 November 1917.1

She was born 2 November 1871 at Beecher Hospital in Wills County, Illinois. She attended school in District 44 located in Leavenworth Township Brown County, Minnesota. Ida developed "milk leg" after Ruth was born. Ida died 19 November 1947. COD was kidney failure. She is buried in Mission, Texas. She married Christopher Mainzer on 19 December 1889. Chris and Ida farmed in Minnesota and Texas. They moved to Texas 9 November 1917.
