- [S706] unknown compiler, compiler, "Sara Frere Apprenticeship"; This day, the twenty-seventh of October, 1699, Sara Frere, daughter of the late Hugues Frere, an inhabitant of the Paltz, has by the advice of Hugues Frere, her brother, as her guardian, promised to bind herself to service in the capacity of dressmaker's apprentice, during the space of three years, to commence the first of December next, to Mr. David de Bonrepos or to Blanche DuBois his daughter-in-law, dressmaker, and to feed her, board her, and educate her in the fear of the Lord, and to punish her with whatever shall be necessary, having regard to her habits during the space of three years, and aove all to teach her the trade of dress making, and at the end of three years, to give to her the same number of clothes, both dresses and underclothes, as she will bring with her on entering the house of the said David de Bonrepos or Blanch DuBois, and to teach her to read and write, in so far as it shall be possible for them. In token of which they have signed and sealed these presents in the presence of witnesses.
