Last Friday, just after we had gone to press, the news of the sudden death of Mr. W. N. Maddux, of Harriston, reached us. He was found dead in his bed at 8 o'clock Friday morning. During the previous night he had been waited on by members of his family while he was suffering with colic. He was relieved and left resting. The next morning he was dead. It is supposed that he had heart disease.

Mr. Maddux was 66 years old and leaves a large family,; several of the boys being independent. His widow is proprietress of the "Maddux House" at Harriston.

Mr. Maddux was not a pulic man, having devoted his life to planting interests. He was an energetic, worthy citizen. We know nothing about his private life. To the bereaved family we extend our sympathy.

The internment took place in the Fayette cemetery Saturday at 11 a.m. Hereinafter cited as W. N. Maddux Dead.
