Most of those attending the service came back to the house where we had tented the back yard and the jazz band played. We had put up a bulletin board with photos and newspaper clippings showing events from his life. The Inn on the Park catered the food - all of Carroll's favorites - beef tenderloin on rolls, gumbo, red beans and rice, and fresh fruit. Those who came from New Orleans included Doug, Susan and Belle Johnson, Dorothy Marchal, Mamsie Marchal Manard, and Hank Marchal. John Giesecke came from Washington, D.C.1,23 |
